Andy Olds to be honored March 3
Kings football coach Andy Olds will receive the 2010 Marvin Lewis High School Football Coach of the Year award March 3 when he will be honored at the Greater Cincinnati Chapter of The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fames 44th Annual Scholar-Athlete Awards banquet at the Westin Hotel.
The award is given to an area coach who has demonstrated sportsmanship, dedication to players and a commitment to education and the community.
This award is unique in the way not only does it recognize wins and losses, but without question, this award recognizes coaches for what they do outside of the world of high school football, Olds said. Luckily enough, I am part of a school district that supports, promotes and encourages students, teachers and coaches to participate in community service activities throughout their years at Kings Local.
Olds has been the Kings head coach for the past 13 seasons and has a career record of 110-35. Kings was 11-1 in 2010.
It is an honor to present Andy Olds with this award, said the Bengals coach in a statement. He has dedicated his career to teaching young men not just the game of football, but how to live their lives. He is a great example of how high school coaches build character through football.
