Colerain ranked No. 1 in Enquirer Division I area football coaches’ poll
Colerain is ranked No. 1 in the seasons first weekly Enquirer Division I area football coaches poll.
The Cardinals (1-0) defeated Cocoa (Fla.) 17-7 on Sunday in the Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown. Colerain has won 60 consecutive home games going back to Week 10 of the 1999 season.
The Cardinals play host to Ryle at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Colerain had been ranked No. 2 in the Enquirer area coaches preseason poll.
Preseason favorite St. Xavier (1-0) is ranked No. 2, while Elder (1-0) is ranked No. 3.
In the Divisions II-VI poll, Kings (1-0) is ranked the No. 1 team after the Knights defeated host Lebanon 42-13 last week. Kings plays at Milford this Friday.
Preseason favorite Winton Woods (1-0) is ranked No. 2, while Mount Healthy (1-0) is No. 3.
