TOC Announces New Procedures
LEXINGTON, Ky. In response to concerns about Lincoln-Douglas Debate losing its unique identity, National High School Tournament of Champions founder J.W. Patterson announced today a new series of tournament procedures for the single-person debate event. Notably:
1. Scouting has been banned.
2. MJP is to be replaced with random placement.
3. Disclosure in any sense of decisions, of cases, of citations will no longer be allowed.
Asked whether these policies represented a radical change, the University of Kentucky noted that these revised procedures would bring the tournament administration in line with its registration system.
